After completing virtualmin installation as described in previous article, you will face Post Installation Wizard – Introduction as follows.

virtualmin_ok

We recommend that you follow the process in Post Installation Wizard, especially if you do not really understand about the configuration of virtualmin and Linux. Click the Next button.

virtualmin_memory

On the memory usage, I recommend choose the default option, i.e No, especially if your server don’t have high memory. Click the Next button.

virtualmin_clamav

In the Virus Scanning => Run ClamAV, you should select No. Unless you are going to use the server as a mail server in particular, you can choose Yes. Click Next.

virtualmin_spamassasin

In the Spam filtering =>SpamAssassin, same as before, you should select No. Unless you are going to use the server as a mail server in particular, you can choose Yes. Click Next.

virtualmin_db

In the Database servers, select the database you will use. Normally, MySQL is commonly used in the open source world. For PostgreSQL, enable it if you are going to use it.

virtualmin_pgsql

If you turn on PostgreSQL, you’ll see PostgreSql Configuration as above. I am sorry, because I don’t use PostgreSQL in particular, I will not discuss it further.

virtualmin_mysql_pwd

Furthermore, if MySQL is selected, you will face a form to enter the MySQL password as above. Once entered, click the Next button.

virtualmin_mysql_size

On the next screen, you will face MySQL database size. It’s kinda hard to explain which one to choose here, because it depends on the application that you will use on the server. If you don’t know yet, just choose the selected value. Click the Next button.

virtualmin_ns

On the next page, it is necessary to enter the server name. If you already have your own name server, enter it and click the Next button.

If you do not have a name server and still confused about the use of the name server, use the name server you have specified during the virtualmin installation earlier (see note at bottom) and click on the Skip checking for resolvability. Click Next.

virtualmin_pwd

On the next page is about password storage for virtual servers. We recommend using plain-text passwords, unless you are sure not to forget the password. Click Next.

virtualmin_post_finish

Post Installation Wizard is finished. Click the Next button to go to the virtualmin main page.

virtualmin_yellow

At the very top of page, a yellow box will appear, there are still unfinished configurations. Click Re-check and refresh your configuration. The process will run automatically, and if there is no problem, you’ll see: your system is ready for use by virtualmin. Click the System Informationin the left menu virtualmin to return to the main page virtualmin.
